CUSTOMER COMMENTS
Just wanted you to know how much I miss visiting your wonderful restaurant on Alki West Seattle. The service and the tremendous atmosphere there is incredible and I wanted to thank the folks that work at Salty's how much I enjoyed the visit to their work place. Please express my thanks for the wonderful hospitality and great service to a misplaced Texan who had a stupendous visit thanks to them. There are three favorite places that I always visit when in Seattle and one of them is Salty's (Alki West Seattle) you just cannot beat the view. Thanks again!! Email to Salty's from Marie Molchan, San Antonio, Texas 11/2/07 Would love to hear your specials as well. Keep us on the email list....You have the BEST buffet and the BEST view to enjoy it, in TOWN....maybe in the Western United States! Maybe: THE WORLD! Email to Salty's from Heather Bruce, Seattle, WA 1/23/07 "There is nothing you can do to improve your [Redondo] restaurant. Your service is superb, fast and your waiters on the best. Your food is great and wonderful each time I come…. Your atmosphere and view are the best and very romantic. I do not feel as though I am in a big restaurant and just another customer. You have the personal touch with each customer and treat each customer like royalty. Thanks for being such a great restaurant." Email to Salty’s from M.H. 6/4/05 "I have had the pleasure of dining at Salty's [on Alki] several times - and each time I have not only had outstanding service - but the food was amazing! Fresh, fresh, fresh! My last visit was on a VERY busy night - but the food and service did not disappoint. It's as if my guests and I were the only ones in the restaurant. I have dined at some of the city's most fabulous, swanky new restaurants, and I can say that Salty's ranks right up there with them. I do understand the crowds. The place does get packed. But there is a bar - and a great patio - which can take the edge off the wait." We hoped it would meet the expectations created by the Alki Beach Seattle location. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED. The blackened Caesar Salad special during happy hour is phenomenal! Don't miss the chowder with a splash of sherry on top. The Sunday brunch is a favorite of all friends that come into town to visit, complete with the chocolate waterfall and oysters... The waitstaff is awesome and the ambiance is great. It is actually a great place to take kids as well. Don't miss the Brunch - it is worth every penny." We watched the local divers surface near the pier. We'll definitely be back again to savor more of their seafood specialties!" The food was very, very tasty, the view was great and our server was very friendly. I cant wait to go here again when I visit Oregon. Sat or Sun brunch is still one of the best in seattle!!! wonderful staff!!!! can't complain.... go out relax and enjoy the best view on Alki..." Posted on AOL on 06/10/2004 "We enjoyed the Saturday Brunch on Aug. 28th 2004. We had a bay window setting on a beautiful Seattle day. We are from Las Vegas, NV you know, the land of Buffets and Brunches. Salty's on Alki was like all the Best Buffets all rolled into one. Could not match the freshness or the variety or the ambience of Salty's. We will return again and tell our friends about Salty's. Thanks for topping off our Seattle Vacation." Posted on AOL by M.W.S. on 08/31/2004 "I just finished making a phone reservation with Eric at your
Redondo restaurant. Ian Fernie, 1/2003 "My name is Ed Rogers and I, along with my wife
and her family, had the pleasure of dining at your wonderful restaurant
earlier in the week. As we are not Seattle areas natives, we happened
upon an ad for your restaurant at the hotel we were staying at. (It
was one of those pocket size ads.) We went there not knowing that reservations
were highly recommended and attempted to get a table. Your front staff
did a wonderful job trying to accomodate us, but after an hour we could
no longer wait. Your staff was highly professional and courteous and
made us feel very taken care of despite this. We booked for the next
day and had a very wonderful time. I wanted to pass along our special
thanks to Kristina, the bartender who kept an eye out for us regarding
the first night, she kept checking our status for us despite being swamped
with work. Edmond Rogers, 1/2003 " My family and I have enjoyed through out the years many fine times at your restaurant. However, after hearing about your kindness and the young ladies prom....we will be coming more often and supporting you with our dinner dollars...Well Done !!!" Annette Williams, 6/2002 (via email)
"I just want to pass along my thanks to you and the talented staff at Salty's on Alki for all your help in executing our broadcast from Seattle. The event was a huge success for QVC and wouldn't have been possible without your support. Our crew would certainly back up your slogan of "The Northwest's Best Seefood" and would suggest you have "America's Best Brunch." Thank you for a wonderful experience in Seattle." Best regards, Chris Johnson "My birthday was on Friday, and Sunday my boyfriend took me to your Alki location for the all-you-can-eat crab feed. We had a wonderful time. We met perhaps 12 years ago in the Washington Jaycees. A fond memory was of both of us being part of a group of Jaycees that travelled across the state to a citywide crab feed organized by a Jaycee chapter in eastern Washington. Sadly, I doubt whether that chapter still exists. While we were only friends and members of the same Jaycee chapter then, we have been dating several months so far. This evening at your restaurant brought back pleasant memories. I've told numerous coworkers about this part of my birthday present from him. The crab, the chowder, the view - all was something great to remember! And I would not have known about this event had I not been on the mailing list for your newsletter." Thank you, "My daughters boyfriend Jimmy had his senior prom this last
Friday night (June 2nd). Several of his friends were to meet at our
home in order to catch their ride in a limo. Just before they were to
arrive Jimmy received a call from one of the girls stating that her
date had "stood her up." In between her tears he managed to
persuade her to still come and he would be happy to escort her and my
daughter (what a gentlemen). When she arrived at our home she could
hardly hold herself together, overcome with sadness the tears wouldn't
stop. Everyone was trying to comfort and encourage her but her pain
was too great...." the exciting Prom story
continues.... "Our experience that night, the food, drink, atmosphere, company, drive along Alki...the entire thing made us make a decision to move toSeattle within the next 5 years. Well, 1 year has come and gone already (wow) and we still live in Calgary but the clock is still ticking down and we will become citizens of Seattle before our time is done. We are both under 30 and quite a dynamic professional couple (SAP Consultant and Electronic Engineering Technologist) and we definitely fit the profile of the clientele of your restaurant and FANTASTIC city. You will see us at least twice per week...once we find work in Seattle and sell our house here. I guess what I really want to say is thank you for one of the most wonderful evenings of our lives - you have an excellent establishment with wonderful menu choices and fantastic service - NEVER change. See you soon..." Scott Hardy :-) 10/99 (via e-mail) PS - I love the rain so it will NOT be a problem...I laugh at the rain - ha ha ha ha ha!!! ...........ha. "We were recently at your restaurant from Alaska. I thought Alaska had the best seafood restaurants, was I wrong, my family had the greatest time and meal at your establishment and will definitely be back and will tell our friends. We also ordered some merchandise online and plan to buy some gift packs for Christmas presents. Once again Thank You!" Jeff Stockey, 10/98 (via e-mail) "I was in Portland last week and fortunately had the opportunity to dine at your establishment. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was fantastic. We had several appetizers (there were six of us) and I had the Copper River Salmon special, it was really terrific. I have had several customers in the Boston area, and we made it a game to find the best chowder in the area. We visit there often and had finally determined a place that had the best, that is until Salty's. This trip was the first visit to the Northwest, and I would never had guessed it, but your chowder was better by far. I had to call my "Yankee" associates with the news, and them being from New England, they took it kind-of-hard. One of their wives will be traveling to Seattle next month, I have already informed them of your website, and I'm sure the "taster" will be visiting there. "Again, we really enjoyed ourselves that evening, and the food makes me hungry just thinking about it. Hope to get back there many times in the future, now that I have customers on the "Best Chowder" coast!!! "P.S. Your cookbook wouldn't happen to have the recipe for the chowder?!?" 6/98 (via e-mail) Guest comments from the Salty's on the Columbia Catering Department "Everything went beautifully! Not only was the food terrific, the service was outstanding as well! We also appreciated your flexibility with the number of servings of each entrée. Everyone ended up with the entrée of his or her choice and we heard nothing but rave reviews regarding the food." Terry Dempsey "The upper level of the restaurant worked very well for our group of 150 people. With the scenic view of the Columbia River, the entertainment of the piano player and the opportunity to have a sit down dinner, your facility was able to offer our group a relaxing and enjoyable evening." Annette M. Meyer "We were all delighted with the accommodations and especially noted the lovely decorations you placed in the Wine Room. It certainly was the perfect atmosphere for our event! The service was impeccable and we cannot thank you enough for your attentiveness to us. You were especially accommodating to two very late arrivals! Thank your for making our holiday dinner such a special evening!" Shannon Williams "Thank you for being so flexible and organized in meeting the dinner requirements for the needs of our company. The food was served with a fabulous display and all was arranged very professionally. We were delighted to also get wonderful table side service and will keep Salty's on our restaurant's of recommendation for our future business traveler's into Portland." Frank Jirik
